Carl Van Rooy
Chief Executive Officer & Treasurer
Carl has dedicated a significant amount of his business interests toward urban housing and is considered a prominent leader in the urban housing industry.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin, Carl took the position of Operations Manager at John Borman & Associates in Madison, WI. As Operations Manager, he managed over 2,000 apartment units in four Wisconsin cities. Three years later, Carl purchased Apartmentry Management and renamed the business Wisconsin Management Company, Inc. Carl quickly grew the business to over 2,500 units and began to aggressively purchase additional properties. In 1979 he opened an office in Milwaukee, in 1980 an office in Aurora, IL and in 1982 he opened an office in Indianapolis and began operations under Van Rooy Properties.
Adam Van Rooy
President
Adam Graduated from Indiana University with a BS in Business Management and a minor in Economics. Adam joined Van Rooy Properties in June of 1999 taking over as President in 2006. Under his leadership the management company has grown over 40 percent expanding into new markets throughout the Midwest. Van Rooy Properties now employs over 200 employees and has been awarded the top places to work by the Indianapolis Star for the past seven consecutive years.
In 2004, Adam started Van Rooy Restoration specializing in Insurance Restoration Services for clients in Indiana and surrounding states. Adam is an active member of the Indiana Apartment Association serving as a board member and past Chairman of the board.
Bruce Mills
Vice President of Management Operations
A graduate of Ball State University, Bruce Mills also received a Master’s certificate in corporate finance from the University of Indianapolis. He began with Van Rooy Properties in 1997 and is currently Vice President and oversees management operations in several Midwest markets. He is responsible for financial analysis, capital improvement projects, budgeting and oversight of property management operations
Sharon Van Dyke
Executive Vice President & CFO
Sharon Van Dyke launched her business career in public accounting with Deloitte & Touche after graduating from the University of Illinois in 1980 as a CPA. In 1982 she joined The Balcor American Express specializing in real estate investments and serving as controller for their private syndications. She spent six years with the company holding management positions in both the acquisition and property management departments.
Sharon worked for SIDCOR, a full-service real estate organization as a Vice President, just prior to joining the management team of Van Rooy Properties in November 1993. Until 2002 Sharon resided in Madison, Wisconsin, overseeing the financial divisions and company benefits for both Wisconsin Management Company and Van Rooy Properties. Sharon now resides in Indianapolis and is responsible for the financial reporting of the entire corporation, its various operational divisions and investments.
Russ Seiler
Vice President, Finance and Development
Russ directs daily acquisition, finance, and development operations at Van Rooy. He graduated from Indiana University’s Kelly School of Business with a BS in Finance in 1995. Shortly after, he began his real estate career in Chicago with LaSalle Bank’s commercial real estate group.
Russ oversees the asset acquisition, development and disposition functions in addition to the debt and equity procurement of each transaction. During his partnership with Van Rooy, his projects have received recognition for many accomplishments including receiving the 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2014 Prodigy Awards for Best Renovated Community from the Indiana Apartment Association.
Bobby Bridge
Regional Property Manager
Bobby graduated from Earlham College with a BS in Business Management in 2003. He joined Van Rooy Properties in 2005 as a leasing agent, and in 2006, he became the manager of a 160-unit, eastside Indianapolis property. Currently, Bobby is a Regional Manager for properties in the Indianapolis market. His portfolio consists of conventional, Section 8 HAP, and LIHTC properties, as well as owned, and fee-managed assets.
Bobby holds his Certified Apartment Portfolio Supervisor (CAPS) designation through the Indiana Apartment Association.
Lindsey Schrage
Regional Property Manager
Lindsey graduated in 2010 from the Krannert School of Business at Purdue University with a degree in Management and concentration in Finance. Lindsey began her career in the apartment industry as a leasing agent for her summer job through college. She joined Van Rooy in 2013 as a Property Manager of three downtown Indianapolis properties. Currently, Lindsey is a Regional Manager over both Van Rooy owned properties and fee managed assets, both conventional and LIHTC.
Eric Bryan
Regional Property Manager
Eric has been with Van Rooy since March of 2007, coming from a background in maintenance and retail management in the home improvement and logistics industries. He began his career with us as a Manager/Maintenance Supervisor, and currently oversees our multi-family portfolio in Michigan. As a Regional Manager he has been diligently cultivating our business interests there since our first property came on line in the fall of 2009, and maintains a satellite office for Van Rooy in Monroe, Michigan. He has a variety of hands on management experience with HAP, LIHTC, conventional, commercial, and fee managed projects, as well as short and long term rehabs.
Eric is a certified LIHTC specialist, and has served on the advisory board and various committees for his local NAA affiliate in Michigan for the past several years.
