Founded by Carl Van Rooy in Madison, Wisconsin in 1977, the business expanded to the Indianapolis area in 1982 and became known as Van Rooy Companies. Today, Van Rooy Companies operates over 11,000 units throughout the Midwest. Carl has continued to diversify the company as a leader in property management, redevelopment and restoration.
In 1999, Adam Van Rooy, Carl’s son, began his career at Van Rooy after graduating from Indiana University, Bloomington. In April of 2006, Adam began Van Rooy Restoration specializing in insurance restoration and renovation and in June of that year, Adam took on the role of President. Under his leadership at Van Rooy, the company has grown by 40 percent, including expanding into five more states.
